Boho Dancer

Boho Dancer is a danish trio from Copenhagen and made up of Ida Wenøe (Lead vocals & guitar), Símun Mohr (bass, guitar, backing vocals) and Asker Bjørk (drums, guitalele, backing vocals).

Boho Dancer formed in Aarhus, Denmark in 2009 around the singer and songwriter Ida Wenøe. While starting out as a quartet, the band really started flourishing when it was reduced to a trio in early 2011. They won the unsigned bands prize, hosted by Danish National Public Radio, in may 2011. Their debut EP "Furry Skin" was released in 2012.



This EP is composed by an eclectic mix of music accompagnied by Ida Wenøe's magical and captivating voice. The sound of Boho Dancer's music is really unique. I think that's probably why I like danish artists more and more. Whoever the danish artist you listen to, their is always something different and surprizing in their music.

Boho Dancer has worked on their debut full-length album set for release in April 2013. The first single of this upcoming album is "Fictional Reasons".

Ida Gard had a show December 13th at The Sidewalk Cafe in New York. During the show she performed some of her new songs. In the video bellow, you can listen to one of them called "When Are  You Gonna Come". This great song foreshadows amazing upcoming new songs.

Barbara Moleko is a singer-songwriter of 25 years old based in Copenhagen. She could be describe as a danish Amy Winehouse.

Barbara's music has been inspired by her african and danish origines. Her songs are a clever mix of soul, R&B and pop music, catchy and with a good rythm. Moreover Barbara has a gorgeous voice.

She has released her debut album "Lykken Er..." in September 17th, 2012. This album is available on itunes and spotify.

Sanne Do is a singer-songwriter from Copenhagen in Denmark. "Authentic songs merging folk, rock and pop influences with the unique Scandinavian sound of her native Denmark. She has a very dynamic voice that dares to show the power in fragility and softness in strength."

In Memoirs is a solo project headed by the danish singer-songwriter Morten Fillipsen. His music transports  the listener a universe which is melancholic, soothing and dreamy at the same time.

"In Memoirs invites the listeners into a forest of sound where there is plenty of room to flow away into the music. The atmospheric songs tells the stories of past experiences and memories - hence the name "In Memoirs"."

The first single "Hiding Here With Us" was number one on the national Danish radio broadcast alternative charts. This single is available on itunes. I don't think they have an album yet.

Julie Maria is a singer-songwriter from Copenhagen. She writes pop, electronic and acoustic songs in danish (I wish I could speak danish to understand her lyrics ...) These songs have a catchy rythm whom you'll quickly become addicted.

Julie Maria has released her first album "Beautiful Minor" (an album in english) in 2004. Then she has released many albums :

• "På kanten af virkeligheden" in 2007,
• "Yaguar" in 2009,
• "7 Sange" in 2011.

Julie Maria has been working on a new album called "Kom" which should be out October 29th, 2012. You can already listen to the first single of this album "Ude Af Mig Selv".

Echo Me is headed by the danish singer-songwriter Jesper Madsen. He’s been writing songs since the age of 10, starting of “borrowing” lyrics from artists found in his parents’ collection.

Echo Me has released a triple EP on January 30th, 2012 with Nelson Can and The Freudian Slip.

Echo Me has signed with Für Records, who will release the debut "Echo Me" in Denmark, Germany, Schwitzerland and Austria. This album contains 10 pop/rock songs whom the catchy single "Left From The Fire".

Penny Police

Penny Police is the alias of the 27-year-old Copenhagen based singer and songwriter Marie Fjeldsted. I've heard about this artists thanks to my favorite danish singer-songwriter Ida Gard.

Penny Police has a soft and angelic voice and also a unique music style characterized by her autoharp. I haven't heard the music of an autoharp before. The sound of this instrument is nice.

Penny Police has released her first EP "Thieves Like Us" in 2011. Her debut album "The Broken, The Beggar, The Thief" released in march 2012 has impressed the danish press. You can buy it on itunes or imusic.

Some months ago, I told you about a great danish singer-songwriter Ida Gard. She has recently won The Independent Music Award's vox pop in the pop category with her album "Knees, Feet & The Parts We Don't Speak Of". 

Talking about this album, Ida has released a new official video for the second single of "Knees, Feet & The Parts We Don't Speak Of" called "My Two Feet".

Ida Gard

Ida Gard is an indie danish singer-songwriter based in Copenhagen. In 2008 at 22 years old, she has won a contest organized by one of the biggest and the most influential radio station in Denmark with her song "On His Knees", which gave her a massive airplay.

"Ida's lyrics stand out and demand attention as they are constantly balancing between being childish and funny and being quietly disturbing."

Ida has released her debut album "Knees, Feet & The Parts We Don't Speak Of" in November 2011. This album has received great reviews and made it to the itunes top 10 in its first week. The album was also nominated for "Best Pop Album" at The Independent Music Awards.
