Artists News n°22 : Special New Album - Part 1

The end of the month of June is the synonym of the beginning of summer, the national day of music in France ...it's also a good month for albums released from lots of artists, signed and independent. Here's a list of some new albums below :

• Alice and The Glass Lake

"The Evolution" EP by Alice and The Glass Lake is out since June 11th, 2013. The EP is available on itunes and bandcamp.

"Alice & the Glass Lake is the sonic dream world of Wisconsin native Alice Lake. The Glass Lake harnesses escapism through dancing melodies, honest lyrics and ambient sonic landscapes."

This EP is an original mix of music inspired by nature and it has something unique, magical and bewitching. This EP definitly deserve a listen. It's also the perfect sort of music if you're looking for a moment of relaxation and escape.

• Green River Ordinance

Green River Ordinance has a new EP called "Chasing own The Wind" which will be out June 18th, 2013. The band has released an official video for the first single of the EP "It Ain't Love".

• Holley Maher

Holley Maher has released her 3rd EP, "Euphorics", which is out toay. The first single of this EP "Whispered Words" is available for a free download at Holley's souncloud page.

"To create this record Holley teamed up with veteran Nashville-based producer Chris Grainger  (Wilco, Sixpence None The Richer, Switchfoot, Kopecky Family Band) and electro-pop singer/songwriter Kyle Andrews. Together the three of them created a five-song EP that incorporates some new electronic elements into Holley's characteristically acoustic songs while still keeping her light and upbeat style, reminiscent of Ingrid Michaelson or Katie Herzig."

 

Holley also owns a freelance graphic design boutique, H. Maher Creative. At H. Maher Creative Holley focuses on album artwork, posters, weddings & events, merchandise, social media & blogs, branding, etc.

• Sarah Swagger & The MiddleMen 

Sarah Swagger has released her debut EP May 31st, 2013. This Ep which contains  great 5 pop/rock songs is avalaible on itunes, spotify and deezer.

She did an acoustic video of "Keep Running", one of the single of this EP, for Effect On Line.

Lately, Sarah has also collaborated with other artists, sometimes in a different musical register from what she usually does. You can check out the song "Always Be Around" she sang with Marlo and "Starting Over" for a musical project by Sébastien Ruzza.

Artists news n°17 : Annie Drury, Heather Bond, Patrick Joseph, Penny Police, Rae Morris & Sarah Swagger

• Annie Drury

The second video of Annie Drury's Ont' Sofa Gibson Session is now online. This time Annie sang another new song called "Just The Way It Goes".

• Heather Bond

Heather Bond has a new song called "Friend Like You".

• Patrick Joseph

Few days ago, I told you that Patrick Joseph have a new EP called "Foot In the Door". He made a video for the first single of this EP "Foot In The Door".

• Penny Police

Penny Police's new EP "Sink or Sail" is now available on itunes, spotify or if you prefer a physical copie you can also go on cdon.com.

This new EP contains 6 songs evolving in an atmosphere a bit melancholic and lulled by the melody of her omnichord and the glockenspiel. Marie's voice is of a fragile beauty and softly all along this EP.

• Rae Morris

The young british singer-songwriter, Rae Morris, made an official video for her new song "From Above".
This song will be on her upcoming EP which should be out April, 22th. You can pre-order "From Above EP" on itunes or on recordstore website for signed physical copies.

• Sarah Swagger

Sarah Swagger has revealed a second song that will probably be on her upcoming EP. This song is "Keep Running".

Sarah Swagger & The Middlemen - "No Regrets"

Few months ago, I already told you about Sarah Swagger whose I had the chance to see performing as the first part of Jc Villafan's show in Lyon last year. Sarah has started her solo career in 2012 and she has been working on her debut EP wich should be out in April 2013.

"Sarah Swagger creates pop music defined by her distinctive voice. Her catchy melodies are full of emotion, balancing sensitivity and energy, as well as heart-on-sleeve lyrics and dynamism. "

Meanwhile, her first single "No Regrets" is already available. You can even download it for free on her facebook page. I've been immediatly captivated by that song and I think you will too.

Jc Villafan @ (L'A)Kroche in Lyon with Sarah Swagger and Laura Esther

On Sunday I went to see Jc Villafan performing at (L'A)kroche in Lyon. As Promise, I took some pictures and videos of this show.

• Sarah Swagger

Sarah Swagger is a singer-songwriter based in Lyon, France. She did the first part of Jc Villafan's show last sunday at (L'A)kroche. I didn't really know her before, I've just listened to few covers she posted on youtube. 

Listening to her live was a nice and real discovery. She has a nice tone of voice and writes great pop songs.  Sarah did a great performance. She sang some of her originals songs, whom "A Million Lights" that you can listen on the video bellow. She is actually working on her debut EP which should be out at the end of the year. Keep an eye on this girl, she gonna do great things.

• Jc Villafan

Jc Villafan started to say hi and present himself to each person of the audience before to begin the show, which was awesome. He is a really cool, nice and approachable guy.

From the first notes, he immediatly bewitched the audience by his gorgeous voice full of soul and sincerity, and his amazing guitar player's skills.

Jc sang some songs from his new EP "Sweet Time" which is available on itunes, spotify and amazon. He also did an amazing cover of the songs "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Valerie".

Jc asked Laura Esther to join him on stage to sing 2 songs : original song "Mysterious Boy" and a cover of "Killing Me Softly With His Song".

Unfortunatly I couldn't film these song, but here's an acoustic video of Laura singing "Mysterious Boy". This song is the first one that Laura has posted on youtube. She has an incredible voice. I believe that she hasn't finished to surprize us.

I would just have a word to describe Jc Villafan's performance : amazing !!! I hope I'll have the possibilty to see him performing once again.
