Scottish Special : Fluorescent Hearts

Fluorescent Hearts is a band from Glasgow and made up of Chris Ashton (vocals and guitar), Andrew Stuart (Bass) and Gary G. (drums).

"What sets Fluorescent Hearts apart from the average pop peddlers inundating the airwaves, is their unabashed love of a kaleidoscopic array of music and their ability to incorporate these influences into a sound that belongs solely to them. Beginning with a childhood love of pop punk and grunge, they maintain their rock roots but sway towards taking a perfect demographic of One Republic’s intricately textured yet song savy composition and Savage Garden’s timeless vocal melodies and sugary sweet instrumentation, singing about love and life, drumming up familiar emotions anyone can relate to."

Fluorescent Hearts have released their debut album "Anthem" on september 2012. This album is available on itunes and on their store. It's a great pop/rock album. These guys have all the ingredients to become a successful rock band.

Scottish Special : Callum Beattie

Callum Beattie is a 22 years old singer-songwriter from Edinburgh. In spite of his young age, he has already share the stage with The Wanted, Mel C, Matt Cardle and Pixie Lott.

"The Forth One to Watch award winner for 2010 caught the eye of such stars as Dizzee Rascal who said that Keep Calm and Carry On is an anthem, whilst Jamie Cullum has described Callum as a natural songwriter."

In 2011, Callum met the Scottish music producer Al James and he has recorded his debut album entitled "This Time This Place". This album contains 11 pop songs. For this album, Callum has drawn on inspiration from contemporary songwriters such as Kelly Jones, Super Furry Animals, Ryan Adams and Richard Ashcroft.

Scottish Special : Holly Drummond

After the Danish special, I gonna start tonight a new special week with this time scottish artists. The first scottish artist to open this "Scottish Special" is Holly Drummond.

Holly Drummond is a 18 years old talented singer-songwriter from Edinburgh.  I found her on Bandcamp yesterday and from the first seconds of listening she really blew me away !!! I think the first think I liked was her voice. She has a gorgeous tone of voice. Moreover, we feel a real maturity in her songs. I would have never thought she were 18 by listening to her songs.

"She writes astute, wry, introspective lyrics allied to beautifully crafted melodies, we can’t help but be impressed by the maturity and insight on display"

Holly has been writing and recording her own songs since 2009. Her youtube account has encountered a good success. She already have nearly 11 000 followers and you'll find there around 100 acoustic videos of her songs and also covers.

Holly has released her debut EP "Cloud Nine" in August 2012. This EP, available on itunes, contains 6 great songs that I highlly recommend. Here's some of them bellow :

Holly Drummond - "Girl That You Don't Know"

Holly Drummond - "Cloud Nine"

Holly Drummond - "The Hands Of Change" (feat. Lewis Mokler)

Holly Drummond - "Out Of My Mind"
